Hi, my name is Melissa Vandett. I have spent the last 12 years supporting people as they work toward better health and fitness.
After working for several years as a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor in Maine, I moved to Melbourne in 2000. Through my affiliation with several local fitness facilities, I have worked with and learned from many skilled trainers and instructors in our area.
In August of 2006 I began Custom Fit of Brevard, a mobile personal training service. I met clients in their homes and at their work, as well as the beach, the park and the causeway.
After 2 ½ years travelling around Brevard, I settled into a studio in Downtown Melbourne in January, 2009.
My main focus is to help people discover that a fitness program can positively enhance every facet of their lives. And not just through a change in physical form, but through the countless benefits that an active, healthy lifestyle can provide.
Don’t get me wrong, I love to teach a mean Indoor Cycling class & always encourage my members to work to their fullest potential.
But ultimately, it is my goal to make Custom Fit a place that you will look forward to visiting, and always take something positive from.

My name is Christine Purdy, and I am an Advanced M.E.L.T practitioner and AFPA Personal Trainer from New York. I have been in the fitness field for 10 great years. For those of you who are unfamiliar with M.E.L.T, it means Myofacial Energetic Length Technique. This bodywork rehydrates the connective tissue and brings joints back into alignment for pain-free movement. I use special rollers for the body and small melt balls for the hands and feet. There is an immediate positive response in the body along with improvements in flexibility, posture, alignment, and range of motion.
Besides practicing M.E.L.T and being a personal trainer, I am certified in Pilates Mat, Spin, Gravity, and Reiki Mastership. My mission is to help educate and empower people to live in a stronger, happier, and pain-free body; therefore, I focus on core control and balance.
On a personal note, I love to run and feel it is a great form of meditation. Being strong and healthy has always been a big part of my life. I have been married 27 years, and my daughter and two sons are my pride. In my down time, I enjoy gardening, quilting, reading, and continuing my studies of anatomy and fitness. I believe what I learn I can teach, and there is no better accomplishment than empowering a client to succeed

Hi, My name is Robyn Kaczynski. I am so glad to be part of the Custom Fit of Brevard team. A fitness enthusiast all my life, my ever changing schedule as a flight attendant kept me from pursuing my desire to make fitness my career. When I resigned in 2006, I knew it was the perfect time to fulfill that goal.
I am an AFAA certified group fitness instructor teaching indoor cycle, body sculpting and a high energy cardio kickbox called turbo kick. I am also an IFA certified personal trainer. It is such a joy for me hleping others reach and often surpass their goals and amaze themselves!
As a busy wife and mom of 3 "all boy" boys, I know how hard it is to find that perfect balance, but it is my goal to help others discover how to live their happy, healthy, best life!

Favorite Quote: “Pain is temporary; Quitting is forever” – Lance Armstrong

I’ve been a certified Indoor Cycling Instructor for four years. I’ve also taught a few Body Pump classes in the past. I’ve worked at Harris for 32 years, that’s how I pay the bills but my passion is cycling.
I started riding seriously while attending the University of Akron in OH in 1977 completing my first pair of Centurys in May of that year. And there’s been a bunch since. Other major accomplishments include; five time completion of Cross Florida (175 miles, 1 day), four attempts and two completions of Triple ByPass in CO (120 miles, 3 mountain passes, 1 day) – the only ride I’ve ever started and was unable to finish, six times on Ride the Rockies (400-500 miles, 7 days, many passes), four time completion of Copper Triangle (85 miles, 3 mountain passes), two time completion of Iron Horse Bicycle Classic (50 miles, 2 mountain passes) and many others. Clearly the offseason in FL, May through September, is my in-season in CO with a ride a month May – August.
I teach my Indoor Cycling classes like I ride the road with every class designed for one purpose; getting up the hills and over the flats faster than the others. This covers the gamut of strength, endurance, cardio-vascular, and technique. My music is varied and will be driving and forceful. I’ll use new and old, hard rock and heavy metal and even throw in some pop if it has a good strong beat, including Lady Ga Ga. I try to stay away from tracks selected by other instructors just to be different.
I’m also the guy at Custom fit that’s recruiting riders of all classes to join together and ride for Team Custom Fit. We’re tourists, not racers, looking for fun recreational rides of any distance to challenge ourselves. A few Custom Fit Riders recently learned that there’s nothing like that cold beverage at the end of your first, or latest, big ride. Come join us on our training rides and get in on the challenge.
